Cake Smash

Everyone loves a cake smash!

These are one of our most popular sessions and one that both baby and parents always love and enjoy!

What happens during a cake smash session?

We start the shoot with some gorgeous portrait shots of your little one.  We pick out a beautiful outfit from our studio wardrobe and we capture some gorgeous, natural photos of your baby.  We also get some lovely photos with the ONE letters too- a fab memory shot!  

We then pull out the gorgeous mini roll top bath.  All the parents love the mini bath and we get some fab shots of baby in there with the rubber ducks and scrubbing brush.

 Then out comes the cake!  This part is so much fun and it’s always really exciting for the parents to see what their little one will do when a full cake is put in front of them.  Some very delicately nibble little bits at a time.  Others go in face first!  It’s a really lovely memory for you all.

How long does a cake smash session take?

Cake smash sessions last for around an hour, dependent on the package you choose and how baby settles on the day.  I only ever book one session per morning or afternoon, and so sessions are never rushed.  If baby needs more time then that’s no problem at all.   

Mini cake smash sessions last around 30 minutes.

What themes can we choose?

You get to pick your own colour scheme and theme - whatever you can dream up!  I then order in all of the accessories to make that vision come to life.  I also order in a matching cake smash outfit for your little one too so everything will match beautifully.

How much does a cake smash cost?

As with all our shoots, there is both a mini and full shoot option.  Our mini cake smash sessions are a shorter, more streamlined session where you can choose to have either portrait or cake smash photos, and where you pick a handful of your favourite images.  

Our full sessions are for those who want the complete celebration, with all of the above shots and all of your digital images included.  Our full sessions give you a complete collection.

When should I book a cake smash?

I usually take bookings for my cake smash sessions around 5/6 months ahead, although sometimes I may have a little last minute session available so it is always worth checking.

Most people will have their cake smash shoot a couple of weeks before little one’s birthday, so that their images are all fully edited and back in time to use as part of their birthday celebrations.
